T.M. sends you a reply.
“Oh, okay. I understand wanting to try this on your own. Here’s a resource that might help, though. Maybe I’ll see you in Alium one of these days.”
With several readings of the poem at the end, you are able to decipher the hidden ingredients and directions within, mixing several elements together in a pot on a bright, sunny day. Silvery, putrid steam rises. The fog melts reality, warping the earth around you and revealing something deeper: a grey, colorless desert stretches far beyond the scope of Terra. You step through.
Over the course of the next days, you discover a newspaper called Alium Weekly. It details several key points of Alium society and you soon find yourself buying a new copy each Thursday, though you sometimes forget to read it when you buy it.
After a few weeks of learning, one key theme appears throughout Alium Weekly: the Torneamentum, a contest involving creatures held in cards. These things are called aniforma and are described pretty much exactly like the cards you received. You purchase a book from a local store called, “Polemological Basics: Aniforma as Alchemical Animals,” that details how to use these cards for combat and competition.
As you establish yourself into your routine of visiting Alium and reading the local news, you discover three interesting articles from the Thursday before. First, the front-page story called “Natura Moves to Block Proliferation Act 6772.” It discusses an ASA senator who aligns with the Neo-Flamelist party and is pushing to prevent expansion on the Silence Act. The next story is called “EtSA: The Rise of Violent Neo-Flamelist Activists.” It details T.M.’s website and the guerilla education tactics used. Finally, the third article is called “Torneamentum Preview: Who is Who," and it discusses the likely contenders in the upcoming contest for political power.
After reading the articles, you realize something about EtSA as an organization.
